First thing first, why in the world did FOX show the rest of the baseball game when it was on FX? Was I the only one that was yelling "what the ...."? Please tell me I wasn't the only one. I'm sure there is some sort of explanation, but I don't care. Pffft.
Finally a race worth watching in its entirety. Fuel mileage was the name of the game and it definitely paid off for race winner Jimmie Johnson giving HMS its first win of the 2008 season.
The worst of all the crashes happened when Newman spilled fluid across the race track and caused a chain reaction crash involving Matt Kenseth, Reed Sorenson, Jeff Burton, J.J. Yeley and Johnny Sauter. The field was put under a red flag while crews cleaned up the track.
While Jimmie Johnson dominated the field, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Mark Martin's cars came to life. Junior led a total of 87 laps. The race came down to fuel mileage and very few crew chiefs thought they could make it without pitting one more time. Johnson, Clint Bowyer and Jeff Burton chose not to pit, a gamble that paid off well for Johnson and Bowyer who finished 1-2.
Although Junior finished seventh, I am still very happy. Did you see how quickly Junior got up front when he started back in the 28th spot because of pitting? How awesome was that? And to put the icing on the cake, Junior is now third in the point standings.
Dega is coming...but you'll have to wait for 2 weeks!

Watching Junior slice and dice his way through the field is like poetry in motion. He scares the bejesus out of me at times though. I like to call him the 8th wonder of the world.
That baseball game had me really riled. They came back from a 2-hour plus rain delay and decided that watching the end of it was more important than the start of the race, even though it finished on FX. They had better get their priorities straight or NASCAR Nation will open a can of whoop ass, not tomention Junior Nation.
