Tony Stewart's next move?
>> Friday, April 25, 2008
First of all, I think the rumor that Tony Stewart may join up with John Menard to form a new team is a bunch of bull considering their history. Below are some options I thought about and let me know what you think.
1. Tony goes to HMS. Mears out of the 5 car, Tony in the 5 car but without Home Depot as his sponsor.
2. Tony goes to RCR as the fourth team mate.
3. Tony goes with HAAS as not only a driver but a co-owner of the team.
Number 3 has already been said by many, but what do you think about my other two options? Am I nuts or do you believe either one could possibly happen?

If he stays with Gibbs thru '09, then we will know for sure he's happy driving a Toyota. At that time, Gibbs will pay him well to stay because he said they'd like him to retire there.
However, if he is not happy driving a Toyota and wants to go back to a Chevy, then he has a lot of options. More than we will ever know. Because everyone and his brother got in touch with him with an offer.
I would love to see him at HMS but poor Casey Mears has been shoved around left and right these past years, I feel bad for him. However, he is having a rough time keeping up with his 3 teammates.
Stewart, his business manager, and his PR rep have all said he will stay with Gibbs through 2009. After that, who knows?
But I think the actual deal will be anti-climatic, because Gibbs will give him everything he wants to have him stay with his organization, and Chevy will give him everything he wants for his USAC, WoO, Late Model, and USAR teams. He will have the best of both worlds and be happy with that.
What about Ryan Newman and Greg Biffle? They are in their free agency this year and do not yet have a contract for 2009. Will they switch teams with each other?
Why is the press ignoring them?
And....
What about Kevin Harvick?
WOW..so nice to see another die hard NASCAR lady.
