The National Inquirer is reporting that Dale Jr. stole Tommy Cook's wife, Amy. I don't believe it, but apparently it's correct according to the "always truthful" tabloid magazine (cough).
Tommy Cook's father confirmed that Junior is in fact seeing Tommy Cook's now ex-wife.
"My son's not talking about this. No one in the family is.
"All I can say is your story's true. Amy and Dale have been involved for a while".
Ugh, you've got to be kidding me! Where's the proof? The Golf Cart picture is supposed to make us believe that there is a relationship going on? Pfft.

It's Official...
WELCOME, N.C. -- Through a joint effort between Richard Childress Racing, JR Motorsports, Dale Earnhardt Inc. and Wrangler, Dale Earnhardt Jr. will pay tribute to his father's upcoming induction into the NASCAR Hall of Fame by driving the No. 3 Wrangler Chevrolet in the Nationwide Series race on July 2 at Daytona International Speedway.
The announcement and car unveiling was made Thursday in Mooresville, N.C., at JR Motorsports and to the fans at Dale Earnhardt Inc. In attendance were Earnhardt Jr., Richard Childress, Kelley Earnhardt Teresa Earnhardt and Craig Errington, vice president of Wrangler marketing. The car is an RCR entry built and prepared by JR Motorsports.
"This was an idea that came up as a way to pay tribute to my dad, and it's pretty cool that it's a collaborative effort between JR Motorsports, RCR and DEI," Earnhardt Jr. said. "The Wrangler car is definitely in the top-10 of coolest cars that have ever been on the race track. A lot of people identify with it, and I can't think of a better way to honor my dad and celebrate his induction into the NASCAR Hall of Fame than to bring the Wrangler colors back with the No. 3 on the side, similar to the 'Wrangler Jean Machine' scheme of the 80s. I think it will be worth seeing, and I'm looking forward to driving it at Daytona."
The combination of Earnhardt Jr., DEI and RCR has a very brief yet shining history on the track together. In their only race together, Earnhardt drove the No. 3 Chevrolet to victory in the February 2002 Nationwide Series race at Daytona. That car is on display at the RCR Museum in Welcome, N.C.
"Bringing this group of people and these organizations together is the best way I can think of to honor Dale Earnhardt's induction into the NASCAR Hall of Fame," Childress said. "Dale means so much to all of us, as well as his fans across the country and throughout the world. We created a special piece of history together in 2002 and, with Wrangler back on board the No. 3 Chevrolet at Daytona, we look to make some more history in July. I know the fans will love it and much as we all will."
In support of the program, an array of licensed product will be available to fans from die-cast cars to apparel and select novelty items. Merchandise will highlight both Dale Earnhardt original Wrangler car and Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s current paint scheme. Fans can find the products at www.nascar.com, trackside or through each of the represented team stores.
"Dale's induction into the NASCAR Hall of Fame is truly a special honor for the Earnhardt Family as well as for all of Dale's fans" Teresa Earnhardt said. "Dale was a competitor, but he was also a person who loved the fans and worked hard to connect with the people who supported him through his career. Wrangler was one of Dale's first sponsors and it's great to connect back with those early years, where it all started for Dale as he drove his way into the Hall of Fame".
Wrangler has a long history with all parties involved, and is the first apparel brand to have significant involvement in NASCAR, beginning in the 1980s when Dale Earnhardt was featured in the brand's "One Tough Customer" marketing campaign. Wrangler was the primary sponsor of Dale Earnhardt and the famed yellow-and-blue "Wrangler Jean Machine" from 1981 to 1987.
After a couple race team changes in the early 1980s including a brief 1981 stint with Richard Childress, Earnhardt moved back to RCR in 1984, bringing the brand with him as his primary sponsor. In 1998, the brand became one of the first corporate sponsors to sign up with Dale in his new role of team owner of Dale Earnhardt Inc.
The Wrangler-Earnhardt legacy continued in 2004 with a relationship between a second generation Earnhardt and a "New Generation of Wrangler" --Earnhardt Jr. signed on as the endorsee for the Wrangler Jeans Co. line of new fits and styles of jeans and apparel. This longstanding relationship continues today with Earnhardt Jr. starring in the current brand marketing campaign.
"For Wrangler, this yellow-and-blue paint scheme signifies a lot of our brand history, marketing and persona from the 1980s," Errington said. "It's truly a piece of our history that will be on the track July 2 and it makes it that much more meaningful that it's not only Dale Earnhardt's son who will be driving it, but also the brand's current partner and friend -- Dale Jr."

Hold On Everyone It's Racing At Dega!
Way to go Happy! What a good race and a great finish!
There wasn't really any awful wrecks like what we've seen in recent years, however the Nationwide race took care of that with this awful wreck:
From what I heard and observed, all the drivers involved were ok. Congrats to Brad on his win.
P.S. Thumbs up on the spoiler!

Dale Earnhardt Jr. to drive No. 3 Nationwide Series car at Daytona in July
From scenedaily.com
TALLADEGA, Ala. – Dale Earnhardt Jr. will drive a No. 3 Nationwide Series car at Daytona International Speedway in July, Earnhardt Jr. reluctantly confirmed Friday at Talladega Superspeedway.
JR Motorsports is unveiling the car and making the announcement Thursday, but television commentator Darrell Waltrip tweeted about Earnhardt Jr. driving a No. 3 yesterday. The paint scheme is expected feature Wrangler, which sponsored Dale Earnhardt in the early 1980s.
“We ain’t really got anything confirmed – DW blew the lid off of it on Twitter no less,” Earnhardt Jr. said Friday. “That kind of ruined our announcement that we had planned.
“We’re going to have our announcement here soon and explain to everybody what the whole program is about and how it came about and what’s going to happen. It’s unfortunate DW uncovered that. We didn’t plan to announce it like this. We’ll do it when we had it originally planned.”

Daytona repaving project scheduled after July race
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- For only the second time in its history, Daytona International Speedway will be repaved following the July race weekend, track President Robin Braig announced Saturday.
"Daytona was originally repaved in 1978 and the time has come again to put new asphalt on this legendary race track," Braig said.
Since the conclusion of the Daytona 500 in February, International Speedway Corp.'s team of engineers and asphalt specialists have conducted a thorough evaluation of the entire track, and upon completion of that analysis, the results were delivered to the ISC board of directors and the decision was made to repave the race track.
Daytona International Speedway's entire 2.5-mile tri-oval will be repaved as well as the skid pads, apron and pit road. Concrete will be used for the pit stalls. All of the existing asphalt will be removed down to the original 52-year-old lime rock base, which will be leveled and then paving will begin.
Lane Construction, which repaved other ISC race tracks including Talladega Superspeedway, Homestead-Miami Speedway, Richmond International Raceway and Darlington Raceway, has been contracted to repave Daytona International Speedway.
The repaving project has a target completion date of Jan. 1, 2011.
The October motorcycles races, Richard Petty Driving Experience dates, test sessions and other track rental events will be canceled for the rest of the year.
Daytona KartWeek races on Dec. 28-30 will continue as scheduled with the sprint and dirt track events only; those two series do not utilize the 2.5-mile tri-oval.
If race fans want to claim a piece of history, they can renew their 2011 Daytona 500 tickets and each account holder will receive a portion of Daytona's track surface. The Daytona 500 ticket renewal process is under way.
Race fans will be able to view the repaving project from a section of the Oldfield Grandstands, which will open free to the public. Track tours also will be available through attraction admission to Daytona 500 Experience.

Four Cup teams penalized for infractions at Texas
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- NASCAR has issued penalties to the No. 13, No. 47, No. 00 and No. 56 teams that compete in the Cup Series as a result of rule violations committed at Texas Motor Speedway.
Robert "Bootie" Barker, crew chief of the No. 13 team, and Frank Kerr, crew chief of the No. 47 team, have each been fined $75,000 and placed on NASCAR probation until Dec. 31 for violating Sections 12-1 (actions detrimental to stock car racing); 20-2.3A (unapproved added weight); 20-7 (all engine cooling system components must be approved by NASCAR prior to being used in competition); and 20-7.3A (radiator mount; failure to submit components) of the 2010 Sprint Cup Series rule book.
Car owners Robert Germain (No. 13) and Tad Geschickter (No. 47) have each been penalized with the loss of 50 championship owner points for violating Sections 12-1 and 20-2.3A. Drivers Max Papis (No. 13) and Marcos Ambrose (No. 47) have each been penalized with the loss of 50 championship driver points for violating Sections 12-1 and 20-2.3A.
Rodney Childers, crew chief of the No. 00 team, and Pat Tryson, crew chief of the No. 56 team, have each been fined $25,000 and placed on probation until Dec. 31 for violating Sections 12-1; 20-7; and 20-7.3A.
All of these violations occurred during post-qualifying inspection on April 16.
"NASCAR indicated we were running a part, a radiator pan, which had not been officially submitted for approval. We accept NASCAR's ruling and will not appeal because we cannot debate whether the part was submitted, only whether or not the part needed submission," Cal Wells, executive vice president of Michael Waltrip Racing, said in a statement. "This gives us a clear line of sight on how parts need to be submitted for approval. We will work diligently with NASCAR in the future on all new parts to ensure this does not happen to MWR again."
Geschickter called the penalty "excessive" but understands NASCAR's decision.
"While the penalty feels excessive for an apparent misunderstanding on submitting a part, we also understand NASCAR has to police the sport and rule strictly to keep a level playing field among the teams," Geschickter said in a statement. "We will work diligently to ensure that there are no misunderstandings in the future. We are focusing our energy on turning our season around and winning races with driver Marcos Ambrose."

The big one takes out leaders in Texas
Ok, I had to do errands today but listened to the race on Sirius. I went in to the grocery store with 52 laps to go and returned to hear about this:
Anyway, I listened to the rest of the race on the way home. I was hoping Junior could finish the race in third, however his car couldn't hold off those who had four fresh tires. Junior ended up finishing in 8th, but has moved up from tenth to seventh place in the standings. Keep it up Junior, you and your team are doing a great job!

Bires out of No. 88 for JRM, McMurray to drive at Texas
JR Motorsports will undergo a driver change to its No. 88 Nationwide Series team effective this weekend at Texas Motor Speedway, general manager and co-owner Kelley Earnhardt announced Tuesday.
The organization has released 25-year-old Kelly Bires from his contractual driving duties of the No. 88 Chevrolet. Cup Series regular Jamie McMurray, driver of the No. 1 Chevrolet for Earnhardt Ganassi Racing, has agreed to a deal that puts him in the No. 88 for nine races. Those races include the six upcoming Nationwide Series events -- Texas (April 17), Talladega (April 24), Richmond (April 30), Darlington (May 7), Dover (May 15) and Charlotte (May 30) -- plus Chicagoland (July 9), Atlanta (Sept. 4) and the return trip to Charlotte (Oct. 15).
A native of Joplin, Mo., McMurray is the reigning Daytona 500 champion. He is a seven-time winner in the Nationwide Series with 27 top-fives, 59 top-10s, and three poles. No driver decisions for the No. 88 have been determined beyond McMurray's nine races.
"We are extremely appreciative of Kelly Bires and wish him the best," Earnhardt said. "Internally, it was evident the chemistry that is imperative for us to succeed in this highly competitive industry was simply not there. That is the fault of no one person. We owe it to our fans and sponsors to make necessary adjustments in an effort to put our best product on the track, and we'll continue evaluating our progress until we are confident that our full potential is being reached."
Under the direction of crew chief Tony Eury, the No. 88 team has finished third in the Nationwide Series point standings each of the past two seasons, accumulating six total victories. In six races this season, the team has one top-10 finish (seventh at Auto Club Speedway). Bires competed in six races for JRM dating back to last November at Homestead. He raced the No. 88 in five of the six Nationwide Series events this year, with Dale Earnhardt Jr. driving the season opener at Daytona.
The alteration to the No. 88 team does not change plans for the No. 7 team, which presently is to run the full Nationwide Series schedule with multiple drivers. Landon Cassill began a part-time stint last weekend at Phoenix, becoming the third driver this season to get behind the wheel of the No. 7 prepared by crew chief and co-owner Tony Eury Jr. Cassill will race the car this weekend at Texas. Danica Patrick has 10 of her scheduled 13 races remaining on the 2010 slate. Scott Wimmer recently completed a two-race commitment and posted season-best finishes of 10th at Bristol and seventh at Nashville. Driving vacancies left on the No. 7 schedule are still to be determined.

RIP Carl
The information below is from our local newspaper. Carl McAdam was my neighbor who lived a few houses down from me. He was a nice man and always waved to my husband and I. Such a shame.
Add-on: I just found out today (4/12/10)that Joey and I were related to Carl by marriage. Carl was Joey's cousin's wife's brother.
NORTH HANOVER - A Wrightstown man was killed Thursday after his motorcycle collided with a vehicle at Routes 537 and 528, police said Friday.
Carl McAdam, 50, was traveling north on Route 528 (Jacobstown-New Egypt Road) at 1:40 p.m. when his motorcycle collided with a vehicle driven by Tina M. Kalinowski, 31, of Hamilton Township, Mercer County, who was heading east on Route 537 (Monmouth Road).
McAdam was killed in the collision. Kalinowski was treated at an area hospital for undisclosed injuries and released Thursday.

Phoenix
I'm down for the count with my back. The race wasn't looking all that interesting and I think it's going to be the Jimmie Johnson and Kyle Busch show. One of those two is your winner folks!
Could someone close to Dale Jr., please pass him this message from me:
PLEASE, PLEASE SHAVE THAT BEARD!!!!!
Thank You.
Add-on: Ok, so my guess for the winner would have been right if it weren't for the last caution. I am glad I wasn't right, but Ryan Newman as the race winner--I'd never would have guessed that one.
So Junior finished 12th (unofficially). A mediocre finish I'd say, but at least he did improve! At one time during the race he was 24th, so I think finishing 12th is considered a huge improvement. Let's keep on improving Junior and shave that beard!!!!

NASCAR places Leffler on probation for three races
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- NASCAR has placed Jason Leffler, driver of the No. 38 car in the Nationwide Series, on probation for the next three series events for a rule violation he committed during the race at Nashville Superspeedway on April 3. Leffler's probation will run until April 28 of this year.
Leffler was found to have violated Section 12-1 (actions detrimental to stock car racing -- aggressive driving) of the 2010 NASCAR Nationwide Series Rule Book.
Leffler was parked for aggressive driving for wrecking James Buescher on Lap 144, a move deemed intentional stemming from an earlier incident in which Buescher got loose and hit Leffler, sending the 38 car into the wall.
